Weekly "Tea Time" 2015-2016

Mondays @ 2:30-3:00PM in the AeroAstro Grad Lounge in Bldg 33

Please join us for the first weekly "Tea Time!", WGA^3 hosts a weekly "Tea Time" with snacks for the graduate and undergraduate women in Aero/Astro to bring the community together (i.e. meet people, chat about your week, eat yummy food, take a break). Snacks include fruit/veggie platters, muffins/cookies, juices/tea... there should always be a good spread of food, and hopefully a good showing of Aero/Astro women!

16.680 Hands-On Aerospace (IAP)

Ever wanted to build a plane, rocket, or satellite? Interested in programming unmanned robots? Excited about learning and presenting new ideas? Come explore the fun side of AeroAstro by jumping right in! Hands-On Aerospace is a workshop designed to show how diverse AeroAstro can be through practical, hands-on activities and demos. In this course, you will interact with awesome professors, tour research labs and facilities, and design/build real systems in hands-on activities with Rocket Team, UAV Team, and Design/Build/Fly. Not only will this workshop show you the practical applications of AeroAstro, you will help pass knowledge on to future generations by creating a presentation that can be used as instructional material for outreach activities at high schools and middle schools.

The 2016 Women in Aerospace Symposium @ MIT

May 24th-26th, 2016

The Symposium, presented by MIT in conjunction with Stanford University, offers outstanding women doctoral and postdoctoral researchers a unique opportunity to present their work to, and network with, their colleagues, university faculty, and industry/government professionals. The Symposium includes technical presentations, discussion with faculty, talks by leaders in the aerospace field, and panel discussions about academic careers. Participants will exchange views on the future of aerospace engineering, strengthen career-building networks, and learn about pursuing academic careers.
